The purposes of this study were to examine the influencing factors on patients'
satisfaction and to establish the structure relationships of dental treatment satisfaction at
university dental hospital.
Self developed questionnaire (21 items) were sent to 1,000 randomly selected patients
who had visited KNU dental hospital during March 2, and August 31, 1998 (response
rate : 33.3%). And face to face survey also performed among 187 dental patients. A
chi-squared test and path analysis were applied for statistical analysis using SAS 6.12
and LISREL 8.0.
1. As the degree of satisfaction for trustworthiness, trust for dentists, accessibility, cost
and physical environments were increased, the patients' satisfaction and proportion of
willingness for revisit and recommendation tended to increase.
2. The influencing factors on patients' satisfaction were trustworthiness of KNU dental
hospital, trust for dentists, accessibility, cost and physical environments.
3. Willingness for revisit was influenced by trustworthiness, patients' satisfaction, trust
for dentists and cost factor in order and willingness for recommendation was influenced
by trustworthiness, trust for dentists and patients' satisfaction factor in order.
